Disney Destiny Review 2026: Is Disney’s Newest Cruise Ship Worth It?

May 7, 2026 by Dana Zeliff Leave a Comment

Disclosure: This post may contain an affiliate link & I may have been compensated for my time writing this article.

If you’e considering taking a Disney Destiny cruise, I’m here to give you my honest review (no sugar coating here!) As a travel advisor who has cruised a lot, this ship feels different from other Disney ships and, of course, is a completely different experience from other mainstream lines.

I sailed the Disney Destiny with my husband on a 4-night Bahamian cruise, and between the two of us, we experienced a lot of what this ship has to offer. This was a rare mom and dad only Disney trip, since our daughter is in her first year of college and we sailed during exam week.

Here’s everything you need to know before booking the Disney Destiny cruise including what genuinely wowed us and what fell more than a little short.

What Is the Disney Destiny Cruise Ship?

The Disney Destiny is one of the newest ships from Disney Cruise Line, launched in November 2025. She’s the third Wish-class ship, following the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure.

The Disney Destiny cruise ship sails year-round from Port Everglades. What makes the Destiny stand out is its bold Heroes and Villains theme. This is completely different from every other Disney ship. The Lion King, Hercules, Black Panther, Cruella de Vil and even Spider-Man swinging off the stern are all new features on the Disney Destiny.

The Disney Wish leaned into princess magic while the Disney Destiny feels more dramatic, modern and way more adult.

The detail is incredible (as always). From the port terminal to the stairwell artwork, this ship is immersive in a way Disney just does better than anyone else.

Disney Destiny 4-Night Bahamas Itinerary

I sailed the 4-night Bahamian cruise from Fort Lauderdale. Embarkation at Port Everglades was smooth even with multiple ships sailing that day. Disney always makes embarkation and disembarkation seamless.

Day 1: Embarkation (Fort Lauderdale)
Day 2: Castaway Cay
Day 3: Sea Day
Day 4: Sea Day
Day 5: Return

Honestly, four nights on the Disney Destiny is not enough. We didn’t get to see and do everything we wanted in such a short amount of time. I said the same thing when we sailed Royal Caribbean’s newest Oasis Class ship, Utopia of the Seas. Shorter cruises can be great, but there is just so much to see and do on mega ships.

If you can swing it, I’d recommend a longer sailing or a back-to-back cruise. If you are on a 4-night sailing, look for one that stops at both private islands – Castaway Cay as well as the newer Lookout Cay. While I loved having the extra sea day to explore, it would have been nice to get off for a bit at Lookout Cay then get back on the ship while most passengers were still hanging at the beach.

Don’t worry though, starting summer 2026 you’ll find select sailings with 7-night itineraries.

Castaway Cay: Still a Highlight

Castaway Cay is Disney’s private island and it’s still one of my favorites. I love itineraries that stop at cruise lines private islands. They are always so well maintained and I love being able to relax and not spend an extra dime.

We walked part of the 5K route and the nature trail to the observation tower for panoramic views of the island. Then we headed to Serenity Bay (adults-only), grabbed chairs and spent the morning doing absolutely nothing. White sand, clear water and no work stress.

Dining on the Disney Destiny: What’s Worth It (and What’s Not)

Food on the Disney Destiny cruise was hit or miss. In the past, Disney Cruise Line has been fairly consistent with food quality and the service has always been incredible, so this was a rather unexpected and disappointing aspect of our cruise.

Disney uses a Rotational Dining system for dinner. While I do prefer more flexibility, I absolutely love having the opportunity to experience the different themed restaurants and keep the same wait staff. The themes just WOW every single time!

On Disney Destiny, there are 3 dining rooms:

  • Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King – Stunning space and the dinner show is incredible. Embarkation lunch? Skip it. We were highly disappointed all the way around.
  • Worlds of Marvel – Fun and high-energy but if you’re not into Marvel, it won’t fully land. Groot is super cute so I still enjoyed the show.
  • 1923 – Beautiful and elegant. Great dinner, solid breakfast, disappointing lunch. I could spend hours admiring all the Disney memorabilia.

There seemed to be a theme with the sit down lunches. Each time the food wasn’t very good and the service was seriously lacking. Again, this was surprising for Disney.

Adult-Only Specialty Dining:

  • Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement – Our first time trying this restaurant and it was the best meal of the trip! Worth every penny. A review is on my to-do list.
  • Palo Steakhouse – We didn’t have time this trip but it’s a great splurge during your cruise.

Tip: Book these the second your window opens. Palo is one of the hardest reservations to get for lunch and dinner.

Edna À La Mode Sweets

Oh my! Edna À La Mode Sweets is one of the cutest quick-stop dessert spots onboard. It’s themed after Edna Mode from The Incredibles.

The theming here is classic Disney attention to detail, with fashion-inspired touches, bold colors, and plenty of little nods to Edna’s personality. It’s the kind of place you walk past and immediately want to stop for a look.

Like most specialty sweet shops on Disney Cruise Line, these items are an extra charge but it’s a fun splurge if you want something different from the included desserts around the ship. Even if you don’t grab anything, it’s worth stopping by just to see the theming.

Entertainment on the Disney Destiny (Still the Best at Sea?)

This is where the Disney Destiny ship absolutely shines. Every time I see a Disney production, I’m in awe of the cast and level of detail in the performances. Oh those voices! I so wish I could carry a tune.

I definitely believe Disney has some of the best entertainment at sea and I know most cruisers agree. The Disney Destiny may have disappointed me overall with the food but the entertainment is top-notch.

One thing I didn’t fully realize before sailing the Disney Destiny is just how much entertainment happens outside the main theater. Beyond the three Broadway-style shows, Hercules, Frozen, and Disney Seas the Adventure, the ship is filled with smaller immersive experiences like Loki storytelling in the Grand Hall, Wakanda-inspired performances, and even villains shows in the lounges. It makes the entire ship feel like one continuous production rather than just a few scheduled shows.

Main Stage Shows (Walt Disney Theatre): Broadway-style shows onboard

  • Hercules: A Merry Musical – A must-see and a Disney Destiny exclusive. So good!
  • Disney Seas the Adventure – Absolutely incredible talent. Gotta love Goofy!
  • Frozen – A classic Disney production that is great no matter how many times you’ve seen it.

Deck Parties & Signature Events

  • Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party (Pirate Night)
  • Live music
  • Deck party
  • Fireworks at sea
  • Sailaway Celebration – includes characters, music, and themed moments (like Spider-Man)

Grand Hall & Atrium Entertainment

Unique to the Disney Destiny, these are immersive shows not theater productions. They’re a BIG part of what makes Destiny feel different.

  • The Legend of Loki (interactive storytelling experience) – I missed all these references
  • Celebration of a King (Black Panther tribute)
  • Sounds of Wakanda (live music + cultural performance)

Lounge & Adult Entertainment

  • Under Her Spell (Maleficent show in Saga Lounge) – Sit on deck 4 to interact with Maleficent
  • Villains-themed interactive shows & storytelling (varies by sailing) – Adults don’t miss Cruella in her lounge
  • Game shows, trivia and nighttime entertainment in Saga Lounge

Other Entertainment & Experiences

  • Character meet-and-greets (heroes & villains & classic Disney characters)
  • First-run Disney movies (Wonderland & Never Land cinemas)
  • AquaMouse: “Sing a Silly Song” (villains-themed water coaster story)

Dining Shows

  • Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King (dinner show) – I was absolutely stunned by how much I enjoyed this show
  • Worlds of Marvel (interactive dining show)

The entertainment alone is a major reason people say the Disney Destiny cruise is worth it and I completely agree.

Disney Destiny Bars and Lounges

The adult spaces on the Disney Destiny are genuinely impressive. I love that they brought the Haunted Mansion Parlor over from the Disney Treasure. It’s one of my favorites. Another favorite from the Wish class ships is The Rose. It’s quiet and usually not overly crowded plus has a great variety of beverages.

A big negative is the small drink menus in the Haunted Mansion & De Vil’s Piano Lounge. While I enjoy trying new cocktails and specialty adult beverages, the prices are high. Fashionista and Perfectly Wretched are signature cocktails that are $25 and $30! While the presentation is incredible, the price tag can be hard to swallow. Plus these drinks take longer to make resulting in delayed service at De Vil’s specifically.

  • Haunted Mansion Parlor – immersive and fun, looks just like you’ve stepped into the ride
  • De Vil’s Piano Lounge – high energy, always busy and the spots! You’ll see….
  • The Rose – elegant and perfect pre-dinner spot
  • Saga Lounge – stunning, especially at night
  • Cove Bar – low-key outdoor favorite

This is not a “just for kids” ship. The Disney Destiny has the most adults only spaces of any Disney ship in the fleet.

Coffee Bars and Cafés on the Disney Destiny

One thing I ended up loving on the Disney Destiny was how many cozy coffee spots there were around the ship and each one had its own personality and theme.

Cafe Merida

Cafe Merida quickly became one of my favorite grab-and-go spots onboard. The Brave-inspired details are subtle but really well done, and I loved the stamped latte art and cup designs. It felt bright, welcoming, but always busy in the mornings.

We grabbed lattes here more than once before wandering the ship to look at artwork and explore while things were quieter. It’s located near the Grand Hall, so it’s convenient but also one of the busier coffee locations onboard.

Cafe Megara

Cafe Megara has a completely different feel. Inspired by Hercules and Megara, it leans into a more dramatic Greek mythology aesthetic with purples, golds, marble details, and hidden Pegasus touches throughout the space. I think it may be the prettier of the two cafés.

Like Cafe Merida, you’ll find specialty coffees, teas, cocktails, and small snacks here. Even if you’re not a coffee person, it’s worth stopping in just to look around.

Cove Café

Cafe Merida and Cafe Megara are energetic and central while Cove Café is the opposite. Located in the adults-only Quiet Cove area, this ended up being one of the calmest spots onboard especially early in the morning. While the main cafés near the Grand Hall could get crowded, Cove Café had a much more relaxed atmosphere with comfy seating and ocean views.

It’s a great place to grab specialty coffee before the ship wakes up, read or relax, escape the crowds on sea days and simply enjoy a quieter adults-only space.

One thing worth noting, unlike some older Disney ships, the Wish-class ships (including the Destiny) don’t really offer the complimentary pastries and snacks at Cove Café that longtime Disney cruisers may remember.

Overall, though, the coffee bar setup on the Disney Destiny is one of the better ones I’ve experienced at sea. These cafés ended up becoming part of our daily routine onboard especially on sea days when we wanted a quieter start to the morning.

Tip – Make sure to grab coffee card and get it stamped each time you make a purchase. Buy 5 coffees or teas and get the 5th FREE!

Pools and AquaMouse on the Disney Destiny

The pool deck on the Disney Destiny is fun, but like most cruise ships, it can get crowded especially on sea days. The pool deck is set up to allow for entertainment from sailaway character appearances to Pirate Night and outdoor movies.

The highlight here is the AquaMouse, Disney’s water coaster, which features a new Heroes and Villains storyline. It’s genuinely fun (even for adults), and worth riding at least once.

A few tips based on our experience:

  • Ride early in the morning or during port days for the shortest waits
  • Midday sea days = peak crowds
  • The adults-only pool area is a much quieter alternative if you’re not looking for the main pool(s) energy
  • Overall, the pool area is well done just go in knowing it’s not going to feel like a quiet resort on busy days.

Derrick isn’t a fan of the pool deck layout. He prefers the larger pools on other cruise lines but this is Disney and it needs to be different. You know. They need multiple smaller pools and they close them for 10 minutes every hour for inspection. Lots of kids if you get my meaning…..

Disney Destiny Staterooms: What to Know Before You Book

Disney designs their staterooms with incredible theming and forethought for families especially compared to other cruise lines.

Even the standard cabins feel thoughtfully laid out, with Disney’s signature split bathroom design (one room with a toilet and sink, the other with a shower/tub and sink). It makes a huge difference when you’re getting ready, especially if you’re traveling as a family or even just a couple.

Rooms also tend to feel slightly more spacious than comparable ships, with plenty of storage and family-friendly layouts. Again, the themes. We were lucky enough to get a Hercules themed stateroom! The hallways are themed to reflect the staterooms as well. Take a walk around the ship to see the different hallway carpets and light fixtures.

A few things to know before booking:

  • Verandah rooms are worth it if you like having your own outdoor space (we used ours every morning for coffee).
  • Inside cabins on Disney ships are better than most, but you’ll miss the ocean views if that’s important to you.
  • Concierge-level rooms come with priority booking and exclusive spaces, but at a steep price.

For most people, a standard verandah stateroom hits the sweet spot. You get comfort, space, and a place to unwind without jumping into concierge pricing. However, I admit that I haven’t sailed concierge level yet so I may just be missing out.

Kids Clubs on the Disney Destiny

Even though we sailed without kids, it’s worth mentioning that Disney still leads the industry when it comes to youth spaces.

The Oceaneer Club for younger kids is incredibly immersive, with themed play areas and interactive experiences. For older kids and teens, there are dedicated spaces like Edge and Vibe that give them a place to hang out away from adults.

If you’re traveling as a family, this is a big part of what you’re paying for and it’s one of the reasons Disney cruises work so well for multigenerational trips.

What the Disney Destiny Gets Right (and Wrong) About Layout

This is something you don’t always realize until you’re actually onboard.

The Disney Destiny is a Wish-class ship, which means it’s beautiful but not always the most intuitive when it comes to layout.

What works well:

  • The themed spaces are stunning and immersive
  • Adult-only areas are nicely separated and feel like true escapes
  • The Grand Hall is a showstopper and constantly has something happening

Where it can be frustrating:

  • Indoor spaces can feel crowded, especially on bad weather sea days (we definitely experienced this)
  • Some lounges and venues fill up quickly, making it hard to get a seat. De Vil’s and Haunted Mansion are small so they hit capacity quickly in the evening.
  • The flow between decks isn’t always straightforward – expect to walk around more than you think.

Build in a little extra time to get where you’re going, and have a backup plan for indoor activities on sea days.

Best Time to Sail the Disney Destiny

After experiencing a couple of rough weather days on our sailing, this is definitely something to think about before you book. There’s no way to predict the weather, and cruise lines will always prioritize guest safety – which means missed ports and cancelled deck activities can happen. It’s just part of cruising. That said, there are a few ways to help reduce your chances of running into bad weather.

The Disney Destiny sails year-round from Fort Lauderdale, which means:

  • Winter and spring typically offer calmer weather
  • Summer brings higher heat, humidity, and crowds
  • Fall (hurricane season) can mean lower prices but also more weather risk

Our sailing had rough seas that impacted Pirate Night and kept a lot of people indoors, which definitely changed the overall experience. If weather is a big factor for you, aim for late winter or early spring if possible.

Our 4-Night Disney Destiny Experience (Quick Highlights)

Here is a quick look at our time onboard if you’re trying to decide if the Disney Destiny is the right ship for your next cruise.

On embarkation day, getting to the Disney Destiny at Port Everglades was easy even with multiple ships sailing. I prefer sailing out of Port Everglades over Miami any day. Disney’s themed terminal set the tone immediately, and boarding was smooth as always.

We kicked things off with lunch at Pride Lands… which honestly didn’t impress. The space is stunning, but the food and service fell short. I enjoy sit down meals especially now that I don’t have young kids, but we should have just gone to the buffet. Thankfully, dinner that same night was a completely different story. Seriously, it was a complete 180. The show was incredible and ended up being one of my favorite experiences onboard.

Sailaway was a highlight (it always is), with Spider-Man rappelling onto the stage and characters dancing as we left port.

From there, the trip was a mix of standout moments and a few misses:

  • An adults-only Marvel comedy show that was funny… but went over our heads
  • An unforgettable dinner at Enchanté that completely lived up to the hype (and expense)
  • A stormy sea day that kept most people indoors (it happens)
  • Who designed Deck 5 of the Saga Lounge? Next time, maybe walk through with AI. There are so many spots that have a blocked view of the stage
  • Walking the ship and noticing the insane level of detail in the artwork. I want it all in my home
  • Finally getting into De Vil’s lounge on the last night – the lines are insane!
  • Watching all the kids get sooo excited meeting their favorite Princesses
  • Again, the inconsistency with food and service was surprising
  • Watching Hercules and realizing Disney still does entertainment better than anyone

By the end of the cruise, one thing was clear: four nights on the Disney Destiny just isn’t enough. Regardless of the misses, I’d sail on the Disney Destiny again. And maybe have a higher budget for splurges at Disney Mainsail 🙂

Disney Destiny Pros and Cons

This is just my personal take – and I know not everyone will feel the same. The theming does lean pretty heavily into Marvel, which I expected, but I would have loved to see more traditional Disney heroes and villains instead. There are definitely some standout Disney villains like Maleficent, Cruella, and Dr. Facilier throughout the ship, but I personally would have preferred more of that and less Marvel. I know. I know. Some people want to sail this ship because of all the Marvel theming.

Pros

  • Best entertainment at sea
  • Incredible theming (Heroes & Villains stands out)
  • Strong adult-only spaces
  • Castaway Cay included
  • Unique compared to other Disney ships

Cons

  • Food is inconsistent
  • Short itineraries (SOME 7-nights are starting June 2026)
  • Premium pricing
  • Lines for everything – it’s an unavoidable fact for meet and greets and shows but it can definitely be a headache
  • Marvel-heavy elements won’t appeal to everyone – We just aren’t Marvel fans

What Guests Love (and What They Don’t)

After sailing and paying attention to what other cruisers were experiencing onboard, a few consistent themes stood out. I may be repeating myself here, but I want to bring all the positives and negatives to light about what others are saying – not just me and Derrick.

What people love:

  • The entertainment is consistently some of the best at sea
  • The level of theming and detail throughout the ship
  • Castaway Cay (it’s always a highlight)
  • The variety of things to do – there’s never a shortage of activities

What isn’t always a highlight:

  • Crowds in indoor areas
  • Difficulty getting into lounges or finding seating at peak times
  • Dining inconsistencies across the main restaurants
  • Some experiences (especially Marvel-related) feeling a bit niche depending on your interests

None of these are dealbreakers, but they’re helpful to know going in so you can plan accordingly.

Is the Disney Destiny Good for Adults Without Kids?

Yes!

The Disney Destiny has most adult spaces of any ship plus the Marvel theme for adults looking for the best of both worlds. Enchanté, Palo Steakhouse, Serenity Bay, and lounges like The Rose, Haunted Mansion Parlor and De Vil’s are just a few of the spaces adults can get away without kiddos around.

Practical Tips Before Booking the Disney Destiny

These are standard tips for sailing with Disney Cruise Line, but I wanted to mention some here. It’s also a shameless plug that I can help you with all these and more as your Travel Advisor.

  1. Book Enchanté and Palo immediately
  2. Use the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app onboard and check frequently
  3. Ride the AquaMouse early or on port days
  4. Arrive the night before your cruise
  5. Book Royal Gathering early if traveling with kids

Status (Castaway Club level) is a factor when booking events such as the Royal Gathering and specialty dining, so keep in mind that you need to plan ahead.

Things to Know Before Booking the Disney Destiny

A couple things about Disney Cruise Line can surprise first-time cruisers especially if you’ve sailed other mainstream cruise lines before.

There Is No Casino

One major difference on the Disney Destiny (and all Disney ships) is that there’s no casino onboard.
For some people, that’s actually a huge positive. The ship feels less smoky, less focused on gambling, and more centered around entertainment and family experiences. But if you love spending evenings in the casino on other cruise lines, it’s definitely something to know ahead of time.

Disney Cruise Line Does NOT Offer Traditional Drink Packages

Disney also handles beverages differently than many cruise lines. There’s no unlimited alcoholic drink package like you’ll find on lines such as Royal Caribbean or Norwegian.

Instead:

  • alcoholic drinks are priced individually
  • specialty coffee costs extra
  • sodas are included at the self-serve drink stations onboard

Honestly, whether this is a positive or negative depends entirely on your travel style. For some, it keeps the atmosphere feeling a little more relaxed and less “spring break” compared to some ships. But if you’re someone who heavily uses drink packages on other lines, your onboard costs may feel different than what you’re used to.

I personally like drink packages because I love my specialty coffees (I only drink fancy lattes while traveling), I like trying different cocktails and the ones on Disney can be quite pricey plus I drink a lot of water and I always forget to fill my bottle at the buffet and take it to the room. Just my opinion….

Disney does allow guests to bring limited amounts of wine and beer onboard, which can help offset some costs.

Mistakes to Avoid on the Disney Destiny

If I could do this cruise again, here’s what I’d do differently and what I’d recommend to clients:

  • Booking too short of a sailing – Four nights goes fast. You won’t see everything.
  • Waiting too long to book dining – Enchanté and Palo fill up quickly so book immediately when your window opens. We actually booked late so this was unavoidable.
  • Not planning your show schedule ahead of time – The best entertainment overlaps. You need a plan. Just don’t overshedule yourself and not get to enjoy the experience.
  • Assuming all dining will be equally good. It’s not so prioritize dinners and specialty dining.
  • Not having a backup plan for sea days. If weather keeps you indoors, things get crowded quickly.
  • Skipping adult-only spaces. Some of the best areas on the ship are 18+ so don’t overlook them.

A little planning goes a long way on this ship.

Is the Disney Destiny Cruise Worth It?

Here’s my honest answer: yes – with the right expectations.

The Disney Destiny cruise ship delivers top-tier entertainment, incredible theming and standout adult spaces plus great activities and character’s for kids. However, food can be hit or miss, it’s expensive, and 4 nights feels short. If you plan strategically, it’s absolutely worth it.

Disney Destiny vs Disney Wish and Disney Treasure

If you’re deciding between Disney Wish-class ships, here’s the quick breakdown:

  • Disney Wish → lighter, princess-focused, more traditional Disney
  • Disney Treasure → adventure theme, slightly darker tone
  • Disney Destiny → bold, modern, most adult-friendly feel with a completely new theme approach

In my opinion, the Disney Destiny cruise feels like the most balanced and refined for all ages of the three. It’s just not going to hit that quintessential Disney feel if that’s what you’re looking for in a ship.

Disney Destiny vs Disney Adventure

If you’ve been researching new Disney ships, you’ve probably come across the Disney Adventure (maiden voyage March 2026) and it’s important to know that it’s completely different from the Disney Destiny cruise ship.

Disney Destiny

  • Wish-class ship
  • Sails from Fort Lauderdale
  • 3-7 night Bahamas and Caribbean itineraries
  • Classic Disney Cruise Line experience with rotational dining and Broadway-style shows
  • Best for families, couples, and first-time Disney cruisers

Disney Adventure

  • Part of Disney’s new Global Class (not Wish class)
  • Sails from Singapore
  • Designed as a destination itself (more onboard experiences vs port-heavy itineraries)
  • 3 and 4 night “Magic at Sea” cruises focusing on onboard experiences.
  • Much larger with a completely different layout and flow
  • Built for the Asia cruise market, with shorter sailings and a different style of vacation

Basically, the Disney Destiny feels like a refined version of the Disney cruise experience you expect, while the Disney Adventure is more of a next-generation mega ship designed to be the destination. Next time I make it to Asia, I want to sail on the Adventure myself to experience the differences first hand.

Which New Disney Cruise Ship Is Best for You?

If you’re trying to decide between the newest Disney ships, here’s the quick breakdown:

Choose the Disney Destiny if…

  • You want the best balance of everything (entertainment, dining, theming)
  • You like shorter Caribbean or Bahamas cruises
  • You’re traveling as a couple or with a mix of ages
  • You want a slightly more adult-friendly Disney ship

Choose the Disney Wish if…

  • It’s your first Disney cruise
  • You love classic princess and fairytale theming
  • You want a bright, traditional Disney feel

Choose the Disney Treasure if…

  • You like adventure-themed storytelling
  • You want something a little different from the Wish but still familiar
  • You’re drawn to immersive spaces and unique dining concepts

Choose the Disney Adventure if…

  • You’re traveling in Asia or want to sail from Singapore
  • You’re more interested in the ship experience itself than ports
  • You want the largest, most unique Disney cruise ship
  • You’re curious about a totally different take on Disney cruising

Disney Cruise Line has 4 other ships in the fleet that are also worth considering. Each has a slightly different feel and can actually save you a big of cash compared to newer ships. I love the Disney Fantasy!

Who Should NOT Book the Disney Destiny

As much as I enjoyed this cruise, it’s not the perfect fit for everyone. It’s not even a perfect fit for every family.

You may want to look at other options if:

  • You’re looking for a quieter, more low-key cruise experience
  • You prefer ultra-luxury over themed entertainment
  • You’re not interested in Disney, Marvel or character-driven experiences
  • You want a port-heavy itinerary with multiple destinations
  • You don’t love crowds or busy shared spaces

This is a high-energy, entertainment-focused ship and that’s exactly what makes it great for the right traveler.

For most of my clients, especially those sailing from the U.S., the Disney Destiny cruise is going to be one of the best overall choices right now if you’re looking for something new. It delivers the Disney Cruise Line experience people expect, but with more polished entertainment, stronger adult spaces, and a bold theme.

That said, it’s not perfect. The food can be inconsistent, the Marvel presence is heavier than some may prefer, and a 4-night sailing just doesn’t give you enough time to experience everything the ship has to offer.

But where the Disney Destiny really stands out is in the overall experience. The entertainment is some of the best at sea, the themed spaces are incredibly immersive, and there’s a surprising amount for adults to enjoy even without kids.

If you go in with realistic expectations, plan your dining and entertainment strategically, and give yourself enough time onboard, this is a cruise that can absolutely deliver a memorable experience.
