It was all about enjoying seats at the front of the plane, as we made our way in style from Europe to the USA. In addition to flying business class on our Transatlantic flight, we had our first experience with first class domestic travel. We flew American Airline first class from Philadelphia to Tampa on the Airbus A319, loving the first class service. If you’ve been considering a first class flight, take a peek at our experience…

Where Ireland and America connect.  Or so the website says.

51st&Green is the new lounge in Dublin Airport for passengers flying to the United States. It’s located after U.S. Pre-clearance in Terminal 2.  Interestingly, it’s the closest airport lounge in the world to an active runway.  That makes waiting a little bit more entertaining.  And we had ample opportunity to check out the features of this modern lounge before our flight to Philly.

American Airline Business Class Review

Dublin DUB -> Philadelphia PHL
Business Class

After relaxing in the comfortable Dublin airport lounge, eating pancakes and sipping coffee, our flight to Philadelphia was announced.  We slowly walked to the gate and joined the short priority boarding line.  After having our tickets scanned, we made our way down the gangway as the kids bounced around in excitement.  Upon entering the plane, we took the coveted left turn to find our business class seats.

This was our first time flying in style with American Airline Business Class and it won’t be our last.

Getting on Board:

We were greeted by a smiling flight attendant as we found our seats and started stowing luggage into the overhead bins.  As there weren’t passengers fighting to get down the narrow aisle, I was able to take my time pulling out iPads and charging cords before placing the rest overhead.

Going to France may just be a dream for some, but finding a cheap flight to France can easily make that dream come true. As far as other costs, you have to pay to live somewhere during that time and it may as well be France. Watch your budget when it comes to entertainment and food. Other than that, your only added expense will be the bills you already pay at home, a hotel, and your transportation to and from France.

How to Get a Cheap Flight to France:

Last Minute Deals

Last minute deals are always a great way to save money as long as you can be prepared to leave for France on very short notice. Airlines don’t like to have empty seats because they have to pay the expense of the flight whether the seats are full or not. Obviously they make more money if the seats are full. By selling you last minute tickets for a low rate that can at least recover some of their money. The downside is that you may not get the seat you want. You might also have to travel in a section that you don’t want to, like economy class instead of first class.

Air Travel Packing Tips

Air Travel Packing Tips

{Pin It}

When you decide to take an airplane to your destination, packing immediately becomes a priority. No longer can you simply throw things in a bag and be on your way. Space is at a premium with baggage fees, additional over-weight fees, and getting your items past security.

These air travel packing tips will (hopefully) help you prepare properly.

Air Travel Packing Tips:

Snake your belts and scarves – Make sure you take all long items such as belts, scarves and ties and wrap them around the outer perimeter of your clothes in the suitcase. This will ensure that they will not take up bulk in your suitcase and will stay unwrinkled as well. This quick and easy step can make a huge difference where space is concerned.

Always keep all your valuables in your carry on – This seems like a rather obvious tip but every year, countless people lose jewels, important papers, and various other valuables in lost luggage. Keep them with you and you have a much better chance of keeping them safe.

Label everything that you can – When you are going to stow away your luggage, it becomes very important that you label it. Luggage gets lost and a good labeling system can literally save you. Label the outside, inside, and anywhere else you can find with your contact information, flight number, destination, and your departing airport/city. This is the minimum amount of information. It is far better to be safe rather than sorry with this data.

An item that will help with having these important labels are these Travel Smart Leather Luggage Tags. They allow you to have your personal information on a tag with a protective flap for privacy.

Reconsider that shampoo – When you fly and have to pack luggage, the last thing you want is to have your clothes and things ruined by leaky shampoo or conditioner. Consider buying these things when you reach your destination or at least bag them in an air-tight container.

Film stays with you – With film you should always put it in your carry on. Film can be absolutely ruined by their scanners and x-ray machines. Always let them know when you have film and are passing through security.

Use the week-long list method – How often do you head out and forget something important on a long trip? If you are like most folks, it is a regular thing. Instead, start making a packing list a week out from your flight date. Add to the list every time you think of something new, and when the day comes you will have thought of everything.
